Biography

Daniel Davis

is a passionate film and video game composer. While he loves to write orchestral music, he also enjoys composing electronica, jazz, folk, and sacred music. Although he routinely utilizes world-class sampled instruments in his recordings, Daniel is a firm believer that there will never be a true replacement for live musicians.

Daniel draws inspiration from his childhood heroes - John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Michael Giacchino, Alan Silvestri, Howard Shore, and Thomas Newman.

While studying commercial music at Brigham Young University, Daniel met and married the love of his life, Allyse Johnson. Daniel and Ally are both accomplished organists and enjoy accompanying various church congregations and choirs.

Daniel’s hobbies include cooking meals with his wife, playing Dungeons and Dragons with his friends, and shooting guns in the desert.

Having lived in Illinois, California, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, Kentucky, and Utah, Daniel now calls Nashville, Tennessee home. Surrounded by beautiful forests and plentiful music opportunities, he is grateful for the friends and acquaintances that he has made in this unique state.

In 2022, Daniel co-founded the production music label Magnum Opus Music Library with his close friends Dan Carlisle and Andrew Brewer.

"I've never thought of myself as being particularly talented. Rather, I think that my strongest attributes are my undying work ethic and my ability to learn quickly."
